Most of these ranges have been kept intact to match the original score, but we understand that young voices may not possess the full range needed. To help with this, alternative notes have been provided in a smaller font size in the piano vocal score, where possible. You’re also welcome to play with octaves until they are comfortable! CATS: Young Actors Edition provides the opportunity to engage with the ensemble - teaching blending, harmonising and active listening. Most harmonies in this adaptation have been reduced to three parts: soprano, alto and baritone, and students should identify which part best suits their range.
