Sunset Boulevard weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of “talkies.” Her glamour has faded in all but her mind. When she meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis in dramatic circumstances, their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to an unforeseen and tragic conclusion.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award-winning masterwork of dreams and desire in the land called Hollywood includes lush, swelling standards “With One Look,” “As If We Never Said Goodbye” and “Perfect Year.”

Sunset Boulevard has four central characters and an expandable ensemble. With a sophisticated subject matter, the show is best-suited to professional and adult amateur groups.

Most recently, Jamie Lloyd staged a new production of Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End. This version, led by Nicole Scherzinger, transfers to Broadway St. James Theatre in September 2024. Tickets on sale now at sunsetblvdbroadway.com.
